Privacy

ViewersCut has no accounts for viewers, no analytics and no ads.

What stays on your computer

Your filter settings, the lists you've downloaded, and any edits you make in the editor are kept in your browser's extension storage. They aren't sent anywhere.

What the extension asks the list server

To find a list, the extension asks viewerscut.org whether there is one for the title you're playing, using the service's id for it (for example, a Netflix video id). Like any web request, that tells the server your IP address and which title was looked up. Lookups aren't linked to any account.

If you contribute

Nothing is sent until you choose to send it. You don't need an account: the first time you send a change, the extension gets an anonymous name such as anonymous-3f9a1c, and your changes are listed publicly under it on viewerscut.org. If you make an account, the name you chose is shown instead. Your email address is never shown.

Everything you send is released to the public domain (CC0). The site doesn't publish IP addresses. To limit spam it keeps a scrambled form of the address each change came from, never shows it to anyone, and erases it after 30 days.
